Leech protection in cPanel
<div align=justify>'''''Leeching''''' occurs when the users who have restricted access to your website make their password publicly available, allowing other visitors to use the login information and access your site. cPanel has a leech protect option, redirecting and potentially suspending the user. The leechprotect function works by setting the maximum number of logins for a user within a 2-hour time limit. If this limit is exceeded, the user is presumed to be allowing other visitors to use his or her login information. To leechprotect your website: * Log into your '''cPanel => [Security] => Leech Protect'''. * Click the name of the directory you want to leech protect. * To navigate directories, use the folder icon located next to the directory name. * Enter the maximum number of logins each user is allowed within a 2-hour period. * Use the '''URL to Redirect Leech Users to''' field to redirect users exceeding the maximum number of logins. * If you would like to receive an email alert when leech protection is used, click the Send Email Alert to checkbox and enter the desired email address. * You can disable an account that exceeds the maximum number of logins in 2 hours by clicking the '''Disable Compromised Accounts''' checkbox. * Click '''Enable''' to complete leech protection setting. There is also a Manage Users button on this page. Clicking this button will take you to the Password Protect Directories screen, where you can add, edit, and delete users. Now that you know how to use leech protection, you may not worry about your site restricted areas' security.</div>
