==World Wide Web (WWW)== <div align=justify>The World Wide Web, abbreviated as WWW and often referred to as the Web, is a system of interlinked hypertext documents which can be accessed via the Internet. You can view web pages using a web browser. ==Hypertext Markup Language (HTTP)== Shortening for HyperText Transfer Protocol is the basic protocol used by the World Wide Web. HTTP defines the way the messages are formatted and transmitted, and what actions Web servers and browsers should take in response to various commands. For example, each time you enter a URL in your browser address bar, this actually sends an HTTP command to the Web server directing it to fetch and transmit the requested Web page. ==Webpage== Each web page (also known as webpage) represents various types of information presented to the visitor and makes it readable and nice-looking. Most of the web pages can be accessed on the World Wide Web via a web browser. This makes them widely accessible to the Internet public. ==How does a webpage work?== ==Web browsers== A web browser is a computer program designed to read HTML or PHP code, composing the web pages. There is a great number of web browsers nowadaus and all of them are based on different browser engines, which read HMTL and PHP code and present it as a readable page screen. Web browsers were found in the 1980s and are being constantly developed and upgraded to provide faster loading times, more stable web pages and better looking websites. ==URL== The Uniform resource locator (known as URL) is the global web address of text, images and other file that compose a web page. Another name for ISP is IAP, or Internet Access Provider. ==File== A computer file is a block of information (e.g. a text file is composed by a block of characters). It is also used as a resource for storing information, available to a computer program. The file is a basic carrier of information in the process of global data transfer that Internet and other high technologies are based on. It represents a consistency of characters that are stored on a personal computer or on a web server, viewable from any computer connected to the Internet. ==Website== ==Bandwidth== The term 'bandwith' stands for the speed of data being transferred over the Internet from the data centers it is located in to the Internet Service Providers and to the users' Internet enabled devices. </div> ==Web Space== The web space, also referred to as storage space or disk space, generally stands for the amount of space on a web server that is allocated to website owners by the web hosting companies.
