Name lookup in cPanel
<div align=justify>Network Tools area in cPanel contains tools for retrieving network information. For instance, you can make a domain lookup or trace the route from your computer to the web server your site is hosted on. This tutorial will let you know how to perform a domain name lookup. cPanel’s Network Tools will execute a basic command for resolving an IP address from a specified domain name. You'll be also presented with the general DNS information about the server. Follow the below steps to make a domain name lookup: * Log into your '''cPanel => [[Advanced]] => Network Tools'''. * Enter the desired domain name you would like to lookup in the '''Enter a domain to lookup''' field under the 'Domain lookup' heading. ''Example: yourdomain.com'' * Click '''Lookup'''. {{#icon: domain lookup.png|domain lookup}} You'll be presented with the name lookup result. On the resulting page the domain’s mail servers as well as the IP address for that domain will be displayed. The domain’s DNS information will also be shown under the '''Zone Information''' heading. See the image below to get an example of a name lookup: {{#icon: Zone information.png|zone information}} You can use the Domain Lookup tool to trace any domain name. This can be useful when trying to define the IP address of the server the domain is hosted on.</div>
