What is htaccess
What is htaccess? Hypertext Access (usually shortened to htaccess), is a configuration file which controls the directory it is located in and all the subdirectories underneath that directory. Htaccess file is used to redirect pages (set rewrite rules), change the pages extensions, password protect directories, etc. The htaccess file is used on Apache based web servers to control many features of the server. The file itself is just a small basic text file and can be edited either via cPanel file manager or via any FTP client.
