How to change the database name
<div align=justify>The name of MySQL database is built using the following format: username_databasename. E.g. if your cPanel username is ''user'' and you create a database called ''db'', then the database name will be ''user_db''. Thus, if you wish to change the whole name of a database, two changes should be made - the cPanel username and the database name. To change your cPanel username, your account has to be terminated and re-created anew with the new username. This will result in losing all the data stored on the account, like files, mailboxes, MySQL databases, etc. This is the effect the username change may have on your account. However, there is a way to easily change the database name suffix. Simply create a different database with the new name and import the old database into it. In short, if you want to rename the database ''user_db'' to ''user_db1'', you should follow the steps below: * create the new database; * import the old database into it; * add the user to the newly created database.</div>
