How to reduce the number of inodes
<div align=justify>As you may know, an inode stores all the information about a regular file, directory, or other file system object under your hosting account. The more inodes you have, the more server resources your account consumes. It is recommended to keep the number of inodes under your hosting account as small as possible because according to our TOS (http://myidealhost.com/policy.shtml): '''''Accounts with a large number of files (inode count in excess of 50,000) can have a negative affect on server performance.''''' In this article we'll let you know how to reduce the number of inodes under your account. Here is the list of possible steps: * look for the files/folders you don't need and remove them; * check the number of cache files under your account and reduce their number from time to time; (e.g. if you have Joomla installed, keep in mind that it can generate a lot of cache files); * regularly check your email accounts and delete old or unimportant messages from them; also remove any spam messages; * in case there are any mailboxes under your account you don't need or use, it would be better to remove them. Having the number of files under your account as low as possible will ensure proper server functioning and and enough resources for your site.</div>
